I Grand Designs guidar designern och författaren Kevin McCloud oss genom spektakulära byggnadsprojekt som är något utöver det vanliga husbygget.

Serien följer människors ambitiösa och annorlunda byggplaner och ser vad som händer under byggets gång när teori blir praktik. Inte minst ska budgeten hållas och vädret helst inte ställa till det. Byggprojekten kan handla om allt från underjordiska hus till ett ombyggt vattentorn.

Kevin McCloud är en av Storbritanniens mest populära designers och Grand Designs är ett av landets mest populära designprogram. I och med framgången med tv-serien har det dykt upp allt från Grand Design-magasin och Grand Design-mässor till flera spinoffer.

I serien som går under titeln Grand Designs Revisited gör Kevin McCloud exempelvis återbesök hos personer och husbyggen från tidigare säsonger. Och i serien Grand Designs Abroad möter Kevin McCloud engelsmän som tagit sina byggdrömmar utomlands.

Med Grand Designs Australien flyttar den populära brittiska serien till Australien. Där är det arkitekten Peter Maddison som guidar oss genom spektakulära byggnadsprojekt som är något utöver det vanliga husbygget i landet down under.
